r.a.n.d.o.m.
Le sigh. In case anyone who drops by here is wondering why all of my photos say tangerine and tangerine, it is because that is the former name of this blog which I have since changed but have yet to either figure out how to take the text off in picasa OR I have been too lazy to go back through my camera and re-upload the photos. If anyone happens to be wandering by here and knows how to get rid of the text on these pics please let me know! I am too random and didn't put enough thought into the name before I engraved it in stone Picasa.

Gifts From An Undisclosed Beach In North Carolina
Look at all of this beautiful seaglass my Husband and I found yesterday! I have never really cared about picking up sea glass but yesterday the beach was covered in it! I found tons of old medicine bottle necks and even two whole bottles, which I assume are rare since I've never come across one before, in my 20 odd years of beach combing . We also found a nice size whelk shell, which are common for the area, but not so much the river.
The one smaller bottle is an aspirin bottle made by the Bayer company. Bayer stopped making glass bottles in 1978. The longer skinny bottle has to be much older since the neck is un-threaded. That means it was stopped with a cork in better days.
Pictured here, is a glass insulator. People collect these. I'm not sure what they were used for...
There are even clubs for people who collect sea glass! The North American Sea Glass Association has a grading scale for determining sea glass value. Interesting, if you're into that sort of thing. I think it's pretty cool! Apparently REAL sea glass is becoming rarer due to the manufacturing of plastics and discouragement of littering. This makes me consider throwing all my glass in the river for the future generations of beach combers...Is that bad? Long story short I think I have a new hobby, although I have been known to have a short attention span. <3

Happy Valentine's Day!
My husband is so sweet and thoughtful! He surprised me this Valentine's day with a sushi dinner and flowers! The sake set was my wedding gift to him. The crane motif is significant because cranes mate for life. Anyway this is the nicest most sincere thing anyone has ever done for me on Valentine's day!

Snowpocalypse!
It's Snowing again! Something that hardly ever happens here, so when it does, instead of people being like: "Ugh snow I HATE snow!", most people get incredibly excited! So it has snowed 7'' or more so far and is expected to continue on until 10pm! SO EXCITING! Unless you had plans today.
Here are a few photos I took of our town!

Captured: America in Color from 1939-1943 | Plog — World news photography, Photos — The Denver Post
Wow! These COLOR photographs from the late 30's & early 40's are amazing! I don't believe I have ever seen color photos from this time period. Norman Rockwell got it right! These images just blew me away! Click the link to see more of these, there are more than quite a few!
